actually this tells me that there is a policy forced by your company that prevents you from installing software. I would ask them first. You need to have local admin rights in order to install this. Also, I have5.0.x version and have no stability problems what so ever... but i did have to have a patch put on first. I cannot remember which though. If i remember when i get home, i will look it up.

This is my home computer. I am the administrator, and I am the company.I cannot locate any such policy.Any setting that might be causing this would be welcome information.

He's talking about the pollciy in effect at the location where you tried to access, this setting is not on your home computer but on the server in which you're trying to connect to. Talk to whoevers managing the remote server.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. Hi, What file type the Cisco VPN Client installation file is? Is it MSI? To troubleshoot this issue, please perform the following steps: 1. If any security program is installed, temporarily disable it 2. try to install in Clean Boot mode. 3. Right click on the installation file and choose Run as administrator. 3. Click Start, type REGEDIT in the Start Search box and press Enter. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer. Check if any MSI related value available. If so, delete it. (note: backup registry before making any change) 4. Enable built-in admin account: Enable built-in admin account ============== 1. Click Start, click "All Programs", please find and open "Accessories" folder. 2. Please right-click on "Command Prompt" item and select "Run as administrator". 3. Please type the following command line in to the coming window. net user administrator /active:yes Note: There is a space between "Administrator" and "/active:yes". 4. To get this to work, the user has to download the installation file from Cisco, and install from the downloaded executable. That was the only way Windows Home 7 gave the option to force run as administrator. However, when it did, the program installed. Thanks.
