Problems connecting PC to TV

Hello!

I am trying to watch movies and stuff on my TV but the only device I have to get Netflix from is my computer because I am in the process of moving!

I have a Toshiba 32C100U1

My PC is a Dell Inspiron 3721

I only have an HDMI cable right now and I would love to get the display from my PC to my TV.

I have tried turning everything off and turn on tv then PC.  And of course turning on the computer first.

I currently have my "project to a connected screen" set as "duplicate"

I know how to set my screen resolution and have tried the highest and the lowest.

My TV manual can be found here: http://pdfstream.manualsonline.com/9/97614e68-7b71-40b2-8e2c-46f351281f66.pdf

Really appreciate the help in advance!

did you select the input on your TV, there is several option like USB, HDMI, TV1 ect. Please select HDMI if you are using HDMI cable

what error message you got on TV screen?

if currently you upgrade your OS from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, please update your graphic card

I also suggest you contact Dell or Toshiba, this is not consider OS issue, there is must be something related to setting, driver or HW

Hey Britishdhez,

I have had the TV input on HDMI - I have tried having this set up on HDMI 1 and 2

As far as error messages there are none.  I am simply getting "No signal" on my screen.  The TV is working properly and in my previous residence I had a blue ray player hooked up. And my PC seems to be recognizing my TV.  Because sometimes the screen goes black. Then I have to set the projection to Duplicate before I plug it back in.

agree with plp384, try auto detect setting

did you update all the driver as I suggested? I also suggest perform clean boot

did this laptop got heat issue when its blank display?

if you can see the error message means your TV (as output) working fine, is it possible if you can test this cable with other PC or this PC with other cable?

At home I always do "duplicate" and don't have issue with signal, im running Windows 8.1, MSI laptop with cheap 1.4 HDMI cable attached to Chinese brand TV and everything seems fine. So, this is non OS issue
