Problems Connecting Windows 7 to a domain
Is there something different with connecting Windows 7 to a domain? I have no problems with XP pro. I can ping the server ip and name, when I enter my domain it is recognized and ask for my user name and password. When I try and connect I keep getting "network path could not be found"? I am logged in as administrator, firewalls are turned off, but I still get the same error message? Any input would be helpfull as it seems there aren't too many forums on this problem...or at least non of them have helped any?

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections, in the NIC properties, ensure that File and Printer sharing is enabled. 2. Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP in Windows 7: 1) Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections. 2) Right-Click on the connection and choose Properties. 3) Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 4 in the list. 4) Click Properties, and then click Advanced. 5) On the Advanced TCP/IP settings windows, go to WINS tab. 6) Under NetBIOS setting, click Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP, and then click OK. 3. Start the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service: 1) Log on to the client computer by using an account that has administrator 2) permissions 3) Click Start, click Run, type services.msc (without quotations) in the Open box, and then click OK. 4) In the list of services, double-click TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service. 5) In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply. 6) Under Service status, click Start to start the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service. 7) When the service is started, click OK, and then quit the Services snap-in. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
