Problems Applying Group Policy (Red Circle White Cross)
I have a group policy question. What does it mean in resultant set of policies (RSOP.MSC) when an object shows a red circle and a white cross?
We have the group policy object named "Audit object access" configured by two different policies. This object is located in:
Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - Audit Policy
Our "Default Domain" policy configures this object with Success and Failure.
We have a special purpose GPO that resets this to Failure.
The Default Domain policy is in the root of GPO, and the special purpose GPO is placed in a subnode.
When we update policies on a member server in the domain, which is in one of the subnodes that gets the special purpose GPO, we see the red circle and white cross.
How do we correct this?

The Policy
“Audit Policy” is applied from the domain GPO, I suggest to contact Windows Server GPO forum for further help:
