Problem with user profile
Morning, I have a client that runs windows 7 pro on their desktops on a 2008 R2 Domain with the DC being file server. One of his employees calls me yesterday saying that he got logged in with a temporary profile. The only thing that changed on his machine were some updates that installed. No matter what I try, his user always logs in with a temp profile. I removed his local profile copy, no change after re-logon. I created a new profile on the server, no change. I removed his profile list registry entry and after that I wasn't able to log on, error message was something about user profile service failed to logon - I believe, so I re-imported that entry. I checked security settings and he does have full controll of the related folders. The last thing that comes to mind is to recreate his user, new SID would mean brand spanking new profile. Anything else I can try to avoid creating a new user? Thanks! Maike

Have you set Wait for network ... GPO? What is the resulting GPO on this computer? Regards Milos

I have wait set, yes. Did a GPO update /force as well.. just in case. GPO results for this user on that perticular machine were the exact same as my user, which has no profile problems. Decided to delete the user and recreate ^.^
