I encounter some problem with regards to updating my windows manually. I think I accidentally restarted it or my internet is sloppy at that time. 

Now, I cannot update those FAILED and CANCELLED updates anymore... or at least the windows detect those updates as a SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED FILE that's why they aren't showing when I check for updates anymore....

How did you install these updates? Did you download them manually or get them via Windows Update?

Why cannot you install those failed and canceled updates? What's the error message or symptom appearing when you attempt to install them again?

Please check if these Windows Updates have been already installed:

1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.

2. In the left pane, click View update history, click Installed Updates to check if these KB numbers exist.

If it haven't installed yet, run these commands with administrator and try again:

net start bits
net start wuauserv

I can't really post my screenshot of the list of 'canceled' and 'failed' updates here because i don't know how to verify my account.... anyway.. here's the list of error message that I receive

i did that one you told me to do with cmd but i think it didn't worked. it just says that the request service has already been started but nothing really happens at all.. or maybe it takes sometime or so... thanks in advance for giving solution to those errors :)

I mean you run that command to make sure the related service running fine. The prompt message indicated that they ran fine.

Could you give me answer of those question? Since there is many error code appearing, I would like to suggest you reset your Windows update component for test:

I update my windows (that some of them failed) by clicking on the update button in the control panel (not the automatic updates, i manually clicked for my windows to update)

regarding with your suggestion about resetting windows update components, i came across the automatic reset of windows update earlier before I ask on this forum. It says it already fixed the problem but it does not since when I check the list of updates, those canceled and failed updates is still there. When I try manual reset, when I go to the last part (that is download the latest windows update agent) I cannot install it and it says that the update is not applicable to my computer. Any solutions?

Did you mean when you check the Windows Update, these Windows Updates are still offered. It's really odd. Like my previous reply, please double check if these updates appear in Installed Updates list as below:

1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.

2. In the left pane, click View update history, click Installed Updates to check if these KB numbers exist.

Meanwhile, let us know these KB number.

From the error code you provide in the last post, it's related BITS Service and old version of Microsoft Office or other folders.

1. Make sure your Internet connection fine

2. Make sure your BITS(Background Intelligent Transfer) Service and Cryptographic Service running fine.

3. Run these commands:

a. attrib -h -s -r c:\windows\system32\catroot2 (where c:\ is the drive where Windows is installed), and then press Enter.

b. Next, type attrib -h -s -r c:\windows\system32\catroot2\*.* (where c:\ is the drive where Windows is installed), and then press Enter.

4. Remove your Office application temporarily and reinstall again.

nope, those with errors aren't on the installed list. with your given instructions, do I really have to reinstall because I do not have the installer with me anymore. and if ever the solution is still the one you gave after knowing that the 'failed' and 'canceled' errors weren't on the installed list, what do you mean by "Office application"?

So how did you get this error If they are not appearing when you attempt to install those Windows Update?

In addition, have you tried to check if these Windows updates are already in the installed updates list?

as i've said, the updates were incomplete (failed) or even canceled. they were not on the installed windows update list. Windows cannot detect them anymore when I try to check for updates (this is my main problem I think).
