I have found a possible bug with the 'Prevent changing window color and appearance' policy in Windows 7. I have created a Windows 7 image which has a custom theme set in the default profile. If I build a machine without the above policy set, everything works fine. When I enable the policy, the 'Window Color' on newly built machines changes from the theme setting (Frost) to a light blue, and the Window Color name in the Personalization window changes to 'Custom'. This only happens when the machine is first built. If I build a machine without the policy set, log in, and then enable the policy, the Window Color remains as Frost. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before, and if so is it a bug with the policy, or is there a fix? Thanks.

Hi Sabrina, To create the theme I booted into 'audit' mode, set the background, window colour, screensaver etc. to how I wanted, and then clicked 'Save theme' in the Personalization window. I then followed the standard process of sysprepping the machine and catpuring an image. The 'Prevent changing window color and appearance' policy is under: User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Control Panel/Personalization To replicate the problem try setting the Window Colour to something obvious like red, and then sysprep the machine. First try building a machine with the captured image without the above policy enabled; the Window Colour should remain red, then try with the policy enabled, and if you get the same issue it should change to blue. This issue appears to have been resolved in Windows 7 SP1. I've upgraded my image and it now holds the Window Colour set in 'audit' mode.
