Problem with offline files
We are migrating computer to a new domain. There are trusts between the domains. The file server is in the old domain and it is a windows 2003 server with SP 2. When the clients that are migrated to the new domain there also gets reinstalled with windows 7. The clients have after that problem to use offline files against the fileserver in the old domain, when trying to make files offline I just got an error that the file is already used by another process. When I doing the same action on a folder/share that I create on a server in the same domain it working without any errors, I am quite sure that the problem is related to that the file server are in the old domain. Can anyone verify that thats the problem? We are soon going to migrate the files to a file server in the new domain.RegardsJonas

Did you setup a one-way trust or two-way trust? In this case Offline Folder needs two-way trust because the file server will write data onto the client computers. If the issue occurs in two-way trust domains, please let us know if the issue occurs if the file server joins the new domain.

It is a two way trust. The file server in the old domain is going to being retied and a new 2008 server are going to be installed and the data migrated to the new server in the new domain. We have informed the user thats using offline files that it is not going to work for some weeks until the files is migrated to the new file server.
