Issue: connecting to an internally hosted web site (on Win7 Pro system), using host name, takes 30+ seconds to connect and literally takes up to several minutes to download the entire page. - when using IP address, connect and full DL is nearly instant. Setup: Two Win 7 Pro systems (1 is hosting the web site) Gig LAN (switch, no firewall or router between them) Static IPs Same Workgroup name Same Homegroup Win7 firewall on, default settings - no 3rd party firewalls. One system uses MS Security Essentials, the other Avast A few tests ran: Can stream video and music without issue (using host name) Can connect using Homegroup folders without issue If I Remote Desktop using the Netbios name - it works fine. If I ping the Netbios name - reply comes back with the IPv6 address. (time<1ms)
