Problem with hotfix for Skype for Business

Hi all,

The following article advises users to install KB2982006 if using Windows Server 2012R2

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn951388.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

There are only 2 files available to download for the hotfix, a 32bit version and a 64 bit version. I am downloading the 64bit version as obviously Windows Server 2012R2 is 64 bit only. However, on downloading, the filename seems to indicate it is for Windows 8.1 only. and sure enough trying to install it on my Windows 2012R2 server, it reports that it is incompatible with this operating system. This is on a brand new clean VM with nothing else on it, that has just been built, and has never been used.

Can someone double check this for me, in case i'm doing something wrong, although i don't see how i could be!

If it is a download problem, what is the best way to report this?

TIA

Hi,

If you already have update KB3013769 (December 2014 roll up update for Server 2012R2) installed - you don't need this hotfix.

To apply the downloadable hotfix, however, you must first install update 2919355. Download it here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355

Can you confirm you have this installed?
