Problem with Windows Updater
Ok, here's what's going on. I can't use Windows Updater. When I try to load it to look for the most recent updates, it displays "Windows update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer." I have restarted the computer already, and even attempted to do a system restore, but all of my restore points prior to 2 days ago are missing. The question I have is this: Is there a way to download the update utility from microsoft directly if the one on my computer has been corrupted by what appears to be a virus? If so, where can I find it? Thanks for your help.
