Problem with System Restore after upgrading
Hi. I upgraded from Vista Premium 64 bit, to Windows 7 Beta 64 bit last night, and I noticed that the Volume Shadow Copy service keeps failing now. Every time I go to the menu to create a restore point, I get the message "The Volume Shadow Copy service used by System Restore is not working. For more information view the event log. (0x81000202)I checked around other forums before, and found a registry fix (Deleting some VSSControl or something key) that caused it to work exactly once, it let me create a restore point, apparently successfully, but then after I hit "OK" I got the same message, and I now get it again, whenever I go back there. Has anyone else gotten this problem after upgrading? Would be great if someone knew how to make it go away.edit: I restarted my computer (again, because I'd already restarted it once after changing the registry key) and now it seems to be working fine. If anyone is curious, the key I removed was in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSS I don't remember the exact name, cause it is gone now, but it was something like VSSControl.

I am not sure if I would call going from a finished OS to a beta an upgrade. I am having a problem with the previous version which works off the same system restore. Even if I create a manual restore point with no error message and then try to restore a file to a previous version there are no previous versions available. I verified that the service was on for the particular drive in question and there is nothing in the event viewer to help trouble shoot.
