Hi all,

I download Windows 8.1 enterprise evaluation 64 version (en-us), installed it on vmware esxi for testing. The problem is that  I tried to install RSAT tools but it's not working. I've downloaded Windows8.1-KB2693643-x64 but it's just "staying" on installing screen and nothing. I left it for around 10 hours and still no result. According to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831501.aspx I need Windows6.3-KB2693643-x64.msu but guess what. I can't find it anywhere in microsoft.com. How am I supposed to install RSAT tools? 10x in advance

There are 2 downloads on that page, Windows8.1-KB2693643-x86 and x64.

I am going to check if that is a typo or not in the article (Windows6.3) as the article was originally written before the release of Windows 8.1.

Do you have anything in the event logs that might help explain the issue you are having installing.

Also, I have seen some people using non-English versions of Windows needing to install the English language pack in order to get RSAT to install.

I agree with you.

The version I tried is : 9600.16384.WINBLUE_RTM.130821-1623_X64FRE_ENTERPRISE_EVAL_EN-US-IRM_CENA_X64FREE_EN_US_DV5.ISO and according to microsoft evaluation center, this should be Windows 8.1 Enterprise (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/evalcenter/hh699156.aspx) . I always install Windows English version ( I don't like non-english versions). The link you gave is the one that I used. When I run the installer he asked "do i want to download and install  KB2693643, I accept the agreement, it runs with downloading and installing ( as I remember) but the bar underneath it shows no progress. And it stays like this for hours. I tried as well version Windows6.2 but it says "it is incompatible with your system" or something like this (this version should be for Windows 8 not for Windows 8.1). And I found that I'm not the only one with such problem.
