Problem with Outlook Express - receiving hundreds of old emails
Hope someone can help please. Every time I click on send/receive in Outlook Express, I get about 600 old emails which I have either deleted from Outlook Express or which are duplicates of emails I have saved. I have a Gmail account. It only started 2 days ago but I now have 14000 emails to go through - most of which are unwanted. How can I stop this happening please? I have checked my Gmail account settings and cannot find any reason why I should suddenly be receiving all these unwanted, already deleted emails. I use Avast! 4.8 antivirus protection.

It sounds as if the problem is the server, but you can delete the pop3uidl.dbx file (hidden) and that will reset the counters and you will download whatever is still on the server one more time, but that should fix the issue (if there is one) on your machine. I would log on via Webmail and see what is on the server and remove anything you don't want. steve "Confused Charlie" wrote in message news:cd42d5af-7e86-4497-98a9-df3f0c44b469...Hope someone can help please.
