Problem with Mapped Network Drive disconnecting!!
I have a Lacie Ethernet Disk Mini. I have 2 computers (1 running XP Media Centre Edition, Other running XP Pro). The drive is mapped on both computers and works fine. The problem is, after a short period of time, the drive disconnects and i have to input my password before i can access it again. I have spoken to Lacie and they say it is an issue with my operating system and a setting somewhere but not sure where. I have mapped it using explorer, ticked the reconnect at logon box and put the information into the 'logon as a different user' section but still nothing!! Thanks in advance!! It disconnects on both computers? Is there a power-saving option on the LaCie that might be kicking in and putting it to sleep?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Are you using same username/different passwords between XP and NAS? If you have reason to suspect network issues, such as wireless, try aping -t ipaddressoflacie and let that run for a while.
