Problem with Internet - Please help I beg you
Hi everyoneI have a problem that is driving me bonkers with Vista and I.E 7.I have an Asus FT3 Laptop and I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit and I.E 7, I have had it for 12 months and have not had a lot of problem but now I have one.For a few weeks now I have not been able to access certain internet sites, mainly yahoo, youtube, facebook etc, google works fine and so do some others like kontraband. Initially I thought it was my ISP but some engineers came round with their tatty laptop running XP and they could access all the websites no problem, I have also connected wirelessly to another ISP and have had the same problemI started googling for fixes and have seen a few other people have had this issue and have so far have tried as recommended1. Running I.E with no add ons2. Resetting I.E3. Disabling all start up programs and service programs apart from Microsoft programs4. Numerous virus, spyware etc sweeps with various programs5. Switching off all protection software6. Removing all protection software7. Double checked all my advanced internet settingsNone of these have worked, so I tried downloading Firefox3, this has exactly the same problem with exactly the same websites as I.E.Last night I got fed up and decided on drastic action, I backed up all my files and did a system restore to the 1st partition and basically set my computer back to the out of box condition. I was sure this would work but I still have exactly the same problem. No access to certain websites, when i click on Yahoo Mail (for example) it still says "waiting for etc etc", hangs for 20 minutes and them times out.I have one more level of System Restore to try which will restore the whole of HD, but that means i will have restore all the drivers as well. Unless someone can come up with something to fix this problem I am afraid I will have to bite the bullet and format my HD and install WinXP instead, I don't really want to do this because I like Vista but I need access to some of the websites I can't access. You are my last chance to save me the considerable pain of uninstalling Vista and installing XP - Please help

Hi, It seems there are several similar issues recently. As you restored the Windows Vista to the first partition and the problem persisted, the problem should not be on Windows side. Based on current situation, I suggest you check the following points: 1. Can you access these websites by using a proxy URL or proxy server? 2. Are you using any network device? If so, could you please remove it and to test the problem again? Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi, Does the issue still persists? I noticed some customers encountered the same problem recently and the issue was gone automatically. Could you please confirm it? Thanks.
