Problem with Flash Drives & Opening Windows
This is the first time that I have run into this problem using flash drives and I have been using them for several years to bring information back and forth to Ohio and Florida. I used two flash drives in an older Dell computer running XP (with Service Pack 3) in Florida: 1 for Roboform and 2 for Backup. I left them both in my computer all the time with no problems on startup. I have a Dell computer in Ohio which I bought two years ago (still running XP). When I have the two flash drives in that computer it will turn on but it won't start Windows. If I remove them, XP starts right up. Thus I have to pull them out each time that I want to start (or restart) the computer and put them in after Windows begins to start up. It didn't do any good to use the "Remove Hardware Safely" when I took them out. Generally I have removed them after the computer was shut down anyway. I did not have this problem last year when I used a FD to take information to Florida. Leaving Backup in and removing Roboform made no difference. What is the problem and how do I fix it. Having to remove the flash drives everytime and then putting them back in is a pain in the neck. 1 person needs an answerI do too
