Problem setting up a network between Vista and XP SP2
I have problem setting up my home network. I have pc running XP SP2 (ethernet) and a laptop running Vista (wireless). I try to set up a network between these two computer but it is not working. At first, I create a network disk from XP then I run the network execution file in the Vista, but it say an error has occurred when setting up the configuration. Is anyone know how to set up this network? Thanks.

Hi ck5407, Thank you for the post. Before we go further, I would like to confirm the following items with you: 1. What does network disk stand for? Is it a third party product? If so, please let me know its model. 2. What execution file was running on the Windows Vista machine? 3. To perform further research, please capture a screenshot of the error message in order to let me know its exact wording. I look forward to your reply. Actually the network disk is a network setup disk which contain an execution file that I need to run on other computer to set up the network connection between 2 computers. So, I run the network setup wizard on the XP computer and create the network setup disk (netsetup.exe). Then, I bring the floopy disk which contains the netsetup.exe and run in the Vista computer. However, an error occured after I run the netsetup.exe.
