Problem recognizing Norton Anti Virus
I am using a new Lenovo Windows 7 Professional laptop computer and down on the task bar there is a flag with a red x in it. When I click on that red x, it opens the Action Center in the control panel where it states that "Windows cannot find any anti virus software installed on this computer". Norton Anti Virus software is indeed installed as I can open it and run scans etc; where in it states that no viruses were detected. Any thoughts as to why Windows cannot detect the Norton software?

The first thing to check is the action center from the system tray. If antivirus is detected, it should show up in the action center. Expand the security section and look for the virus protection. It should tell you that "Norton anti-virus reports that it is up to date and virus scanning is on." if it does, then you may need to change your action center settings. If it does not appear under the virus protection section of the Action Center, then go and find the norton removal tool http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN&ln=en_US. Find your particualr product and download. Follow the directions . Once complete, I would recomend a reboot before reinstalling your norton product.
