On a Pro/Enterprise edition installation of Windows 8 you should be able to select the radio button next to "Domain" which will then make the text box under it white and allow you to enter the domain information in there.

If the radio button isn't selectable and the word "Domain" itself is also greyed out then that would suggest you're running an incompatible version of Windows. Are you definitely running Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise edition? "Windows 8" is essentially the same as Home edition, and that edition doesn't support joining to a domain.

even though you still can join Windows 8 pro to Windows Server 2003, it will be lack of feature and need a lot of trick/setting for both of Windows 8 pro and Windows Server 2003, mostly group policy setting and new Windows 8 pro feature

What I suggest is upgrade your Server OS to Windows 2012 so its more compatible for Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 later

If you still want to use Windows Server 2003, I suggest you install Windows XP, Vista and 7 only
