Problem connecting to Windows Server 2008 from Windows 7 RTM
Hi!I recently installed Windows 7 RTM (x64) on my work laptop. So far everything is working fine, except one thing. I can't connect from it to my Windows Server 2008 test machine (32-bit, SP2).Neither Remote Desktopnor file sharing is working. All that worked in Vista (also x64) before I reinstalled the laptop. Both machines belong to the same workgroup (no AD domains), areconnected to the samesubnet (no firewalls between them)and have static IP-addresses. They can both connect to theinternet and ping each other.Remote Desktop returns the error "your credentials did not work" no matter which user account I try (I have two admin account on the server and I've tried both <servername>\<username> and <username>@<servername>).File sharing returns a "username or password is not correct" message when I try to connect to\\<servername>\<share> with an admin account. What is reallyweird is that I can connect using standard user accounts (not member of the local Administrators group on the server). Those accounts doesn't work with Remote Desktop however since they are not allowed to log on.I know it sounds like I've forgot the password or something silly but I'm 100% sure that isn't the case. Like I wrote, everything was working fine in Vista before I installed Win7 and I haven't changed anything on the server.I've tried disabling local firewall etc but no success. Could it have anything to do with NLA (Network Level Authentication)?IPv6 is disabled on both computers.Any suggestions will be appreciated! :)
