Problem connecting Vista to SBS2003
Having some problems connecting a new computer to our SBS 2003 server. first step was to install the patch for SBS 2003. I am trying to install the "Windows Small Business Server 2003: Vistaand Outlook 2007 compatibility update">http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926505But it will not install telling me:"This update cannot be installed. Either it is already installed as part of an existing service pack, or it requires a more recent service pack. For more info, see the system requirements on the download page."This is on a fully patched (Windows update and Microsoft update) SBS2003 WITH SERVICE PACK 2 (Inever installed service pack1, butI'm pretty sure it was already on the machine when i got it as i only purchased it about 8 months ago) the requirements of the update state that it requires SP1 but makes no mention of SP2 and microsoft want $300 to help me.... KB926505 does not appear in the Control Panel as a removable item andthe new Group Policy templates do not appear either.I've checked my updates history and found a few minor failed updates whichI have manually reinstalled. this made no difference. I've found some posts on a few forums referencing that in some circumstances SP1 installation "didnt take" and that reinstalling the SBS2003 SP1 solved the problem. But i never had SP1 (at least i dont think i did, it's not in add/remove programs) only SP2. Any ideas would be much appreciated.(also posting under SBS 2003 forum) Thankyou

You're not alone, and unfortunately, I do not have the answer.SP1 and then, SP2 were installed on my system not long after they were made available. KB926505 has the same error message as the original poster. KB911829 update for OWA and Vista clients has a similar error. "Setup detected that the version of the service pack installed on your system is lower than what is necessary to apply this hotfix. At minimum, you must have Service Pack 2 installed," which, of course, it is. Anyone found resolution to this?

Microsoft - Please fix this!!! I have the same issue. Running SBS 2003 w/ SP1. KB926505 is not installed per add/remove programs. However, I cannot install it as it gives the error identified above. What's the deal? I cannot recommend Vista to clients until the kinks are worked out.........

Try downloading and reinstalling Exhange 2003 SP2. I was experiencing the same issue, but once I reinstalled SP2, KB911829 installed fine.
