Problem adding a domain computer to a homegroup
Hi,I have successfully setup a homegroup setup with three windows 7 home premium computers attached via ethernet cable to a netgear cg814wg cable router. The primary machine, which hosts the homegroup and has the printer attached, is running 64 bit. The other two are 32 bit machines. All file and printer sharing appears to work fine. When I try to add my work computer to the homegroup I get the error "Windows cannot setup a homegroup on this computer error". The work computer is connected to a domain at work. It is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. The active network is set to home network. I have tried connecting via both wireless and ethernet cable, without any success. I have checked that services listed in other posts on other forums and blog posts are running, and all appear OK.All computers have the IPv6 checked, although they can not get internet access via IPv6. I do know that the cg814wg router can has problems with ipv6, as I had to disable it under vista to get access to the internet when I originally set the router up. However, given that the three home desktops all joined the homegroup OK, I don't think that is the cause of my problem.I am now wondering what to do next. Any thoughts? Some questions I have are:How can I tell from my laptop if our network admins have disabled homegroup access at the domain level?I really only need to share the printer. Can I just share the printer without joining the homegroup? I have had troube with this too. When I turned file and printer sharing on on the 64bit computer, I can get access to the file shares from my work computer, but the printer does not appear as a shareable resource. Thanks,Pete

Thanks for the link, but that really only talked about how to set up the homegroup. As I mentioned in my post. I have successfully set up and used my homegroup from my home computers. My problem is getting my work computer to see and share the printer atteched to a homegroup computer.Peter
