Problem With Installer or Security Essentials
I cannot download the following programs JAVA and Examguard... JAVA support said it was not them, it was the installer or something blocking the download. I cannot update iTunes, Quicktime and Fixit was unable to continue, it encountered an error.... I dropped the firewall and unchecked the User Account - restarted the computer - and download does not complete. I believe it has something to do with Microsoft Security Essentials. My O/S Vista Sp3

For Windows Installer, please update it and check if this solve your problem. If you suspect that the problem is due to Microsoft Security Essentials; please disable it, install / update your applications and then re-enable it. Hi, If Windows installer is corrupted, you can't install any software including iTunes. But it was installed now. This indicates the Windows installer itself is fine. Could you please tell us the error message during installing JAVA. It is probably a corrupted registry value of Java program remaining. We need to involve Java support to find out the registry, remove it so that the Java program can installed.
