Hi Check out this link. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-printer-problems A print spooler is software that temporarily stores print jobs on the computer hard disk or in memory until the printer is ready to print them. If you've been waiting an unusually long time for a document to print, or if you see an error message about the print spooler, spooler subsystem, or spooler resources, you might need to change and then restart the Print Spooler service on your computer. To do this, we recommend that you save your work, and then restart the computer to restart the Print Spooler service. If you don't want to restart the computer, try these steps instead. To change or restart the Print Spooler service You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps. 1. Open Administrative Tools by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Administrative Tools. 2. Double-click Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 3. Right-click the Print Spooler service, and then click Properties. 4. On the General tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected. 5. If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start, and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Hope u will get your answer. thanx Regards Syed Asad Bukhari

Thanks for your reply. The print spooler service is already started in my computer. May I know the size of print spooler under Windows 7? Can I minimize it? So that my printout can be printed when the buffer threshold is reached. Or any actions I need to be done for letting my printout print while the buffer received, and no need to wait for the whole printing file received. Thanks for your kindly help.

Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Devices and Printers; right click on your printer and select Printer properties; select the Advanced tab and make sure Start printing immediately is selected. You can also tell it to bypass the Windows spooler altogether on this page by selecting Print directly to printer, but 3000 pages is a lot so your printer had better have plenty of memory. You might want to consider breaking the print job up into smaller segments of 100-200 pages each.

There are no limitations on the printer spoolers, and Windows 7 does not provide functions to limit the size. The issue you mentioned in your first post can be caused by incompatible driver. Please remove the printer in Printers and Devices. Then follow the steps below to install the printer. 1. Click Start, click Control Panel and double click Devices and Printers. 2. Click Add a Printer. 3. Select "Add a local printer". 4. Select "Create a new port". Choose "Local Port" as the type of the port. 5. In the box "Enter a port name", type the address as the following format. \\<IP address of the host computer>\<The Share Name of the printer> Then click Next. 6. Select the correct driver in from the driver list. If the required driver is not present, click the “Windows Update” button. After the update finishes, search for the proper driver again. If the above suggestions do not help, please let us know the model of the printer. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
