Printer spooler not working code 1053
I would appreciate if someone could give me some advice. My DELL laptop, Inspiron 1545, 64 bit with Window 7 connected to Epson wireless printer worked fine until one day the printer spooler stopped working. I have tried all the instruction that I could find on the internet but none work, I keep getting the message that printer spooler not working code 1053, I have desinstalled the printer but now it won’t reinstall because the printer spooler is not working, I have tried to restart the spooler through services but it will not restart, I have done several system restore but this didn’t work I have formatted the hard drive but the spooler problem still there, do I have to scrap the laptop or the printer?

Hi, Please perform SCF /scannow to check system file: To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box. 2. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue 3. At the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow If the issue persists, you may try these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, then click OK. 2. In Registry Editor, locate the registry subkey and then click the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Spooler 3. Right-click on the value DependOnService, and then click Edit. 4. In the Value data, delete the event described in the "Symptoms" section. Note: You’d better backup your registry before you change it. Hi, The print spooler depends on: 1 HTTP 2 Remote Procedure call (RPC) - DCOM server Process Launcher - EPC Endpoint mapper So please make sure the RPC service is automatic started. If the issue persists, you may need to perform an in-place upgrade to fix it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2255099 Regards, Leo Huang Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi Leo Thank you for your advice, I have performed your first advice and this did not work, I noticed that when I open services to re-start the spooler it shows error 1813 and then when I try to start the spooler a window opens with error 1053. I tried to perform your second advice but I have not been able to do it because it tells me that the windows installed in the laptop is newer than the one on the disc, I know that the printer is not at fault because is working ok on the network of one more laptop. I have the same problem. I bought a new canon printer, it works, now it is not working. I followed all instructions on web and got it to work for a day. now its not working again. i've done the scannow, it did not find any integrity violoations. i have gone into regedit and deleted RPCSS in the value data screen (the only item in there), still not working. everything listed dependent for print spooler (like DCOM Server Process Launcher and RPC Endpoint Mapper) is on Startup type automatic. its not the printer, cause when i go to add a printer it gives me an error, (in other words- my windows 7 machine wont let me add any printers...) its so screwy. the printer is installed and appears there, under printers, and can scan data into the computer. but heaven help me if i want to print anything. Please help!! regards, Shazam
