Printer Properties Box Flashing
Hi everyone, I currently have an issue with the Printer Properties Box flashing up and then closing itself instantly. If you blink you miss it. This was originally only on 1 Windows XP SP3 machine but has now appeared on a Windows 7 SP1 Machine. The printer in question is a Konica BizHub 420. This is a network printer added via a Print Server and requires Username and Password to allow the user to print to it. I have tried removing and adding the printer again which does not resolve the problem. I have also tried adding the printer via a Local Admin account rather than a Domain Admin Account. Same issue. Neither machine used to have this problem, this has appeared in the last couple of weeks and as far as I know nothing has changed. Suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

<Quick One off Fix> We tried giving the 420 the drivers for the 421 which allowed us to open the Printing Properties once, and it printed fine for those of you who just need to get in there for initial set up. Not an adequate solution for us however.

Hi, Did this issue occur with other Windows 7 machine? This issue may be caused by the incompatible driver of the printer, please check the driver is support to Windows 7. You can download it on: http://onyxftp.mykonicaminolta.com/download/SearchResults.aspx?productid=899 Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. Then remove the old printer driver on Windows 7 and install the latest driver. If the issue persists, please login with Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs. Hope that helps. Regards, Leo Huang TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. Hi Leo, This issue has not yet occurred on any other Windows 7 Machines that have been using this printer. The driver we have supports Windows 7 Machines. The issue persists regardless of how we boot the 2 machines (One XP SP3, One W7 SP1)

Hi, On Windows 7 SP1, please go to Print Management\Custom Filters\All Drivers, remove some useless driver. And isolate the driver in the same place: Right click print driver---Set Driver Isolation---Isolated If the issue persists, please remove unnecessary hardwares on Windows 7, also remove some third party tools to check if some incompatible programs conflict with your printer. Furthermore, you can try to install vista driver with vista compatible mode: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprohardware/thread/80cae5ee-dc98-4a2f-8284-a1ab826059b7 Hope that helps. Hi, Since both Windows 7 and Windows XP has issue to use this printer, the issue should related the printer driver or other configuration of the printer. You’d better continue contacting Konica for further help. And I will change this thread to discussion, if you get any feedback of Konica, please let me know. Thank you for your understanding.
