Printer Communications System hogging Memory
I just got a new 64-bit Toshiba with AMD Quad Core, 8 Gig memory and running Windows 8.1. After adding my old printer (Lexmark x6570) I noticed the process called "Printer Communications System" which is also identified as lxdfcoms.exe is consuming 1,353,828 K of my Memory. On my old computer it is only taking up 3696 k. This is with everything I can"" see"" closed except for this entry window and Task Manager. Task Manager shows several other processes running but they are not hogging memory.  Why is this consuming so much memory and what should I do to minimize the consumption? Also, how do I determine if all this stuff that shows up in Task Manager is necessary? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Can your printer works properly on Windows 8.1? If not, it is probably driver compatibility problem that caused high memory consuming. If yes, We can use Process Explorer to check more detailed printer process. Please access to the link below to download Process Explorer:

After open Process Explorer, choose printer process and check its properties, it would list the details about all dll file and stack.
