The HP site had confirmed that I had the correct hardward and upto date softwareand no solutions appeared to cover the issue. On your suggestion I rechecked and got the same informationI therefore deleted all HP software and devices and uploaded the drivers myself (rather than allowing Windows to do as Idone originally on upgrading to Windows7)On re-installation the printer appears to have shed the problem and the HP program/solution centre is completley new.Lesson...don't beleive everything the computer says.Thank you for your inputsRegards

Amberlee, it was a known problem when upgrading from Vista to 7, had you just applied the latest update, it would have fixed your issue, but now that you've uninstalled and installed the latest driver packagefrom HP, that included the update you needed. Enjoy your AIO printer and Windows 7. Good job.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

cdobbs I did in fact apply for the latest up date offered by HP ..twice ... and got the message no new updates ...twice. I also did the system hardware software compatability check on offer and given the clear.I'm assuming that the site was busy looking at a piece of software that was 100% in itself but not recognising the system changes. Anyway if anyone else comes across the problem the solution is there to seeregards Amberlee

I agree with Ronnie. It should be a driver issue. You'd better download the driver from the website in Ronnie's post. Then, uninstall the existed driver from Program and Features. After installing the latest driver the issue should be resolved. If it still occurs, I suspect that the issue is caused by the programs you print with. Does the issue occur if you print in Windows Live Photo Gallery or Paint?Arthur Xie - MSFT
