Print server network problem
HelloI have d-link DP-300Uprint server that connets with my computer over the network. On print server I have conneted two printer. I installed drivers for printers in Devices and printers and i set the correct port for it. I do everything like i do it on Vista. On Vista this works great but on Windows 7 is not working. To explain what i do: DP-300U have IP address 192.168.1.10 and it is fixed. when I installed my printer i chouse to add new port. I added Standard TCP/IP Port with correct printer IP adress and correct port name. Then i chouse standard generic network card. After that in configuration of port i set correts parameters for it. And thats all. after that in Vista i can print but on Windows 7 i can not print and the printer is allways offline.

The add a printer, networked printer wizard from Device and Printers doesn't work? That may be quicker than checking the manual settings. The port should be created using the print server IP. Is the port that you created blocked in the firewall? SNMP enabled when you configured the port? There should be a selection at the top of devices and printer window to view print server properties.

Hi, I suggest you refer to the following link to install the firmware update and contact D-Link Support to confirm if this print server is compatible with Windows 7. http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=166 Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. In addition, you also need to install the latest version of the printer driver from the printer manufacturers official website for Windows 7. Good luck!Arthur Li - MSFT
