Print Spooler Slow
I have a HP Photosmart 7960 connected to a Netgear print server on my home network. There are 3 computers on the network 2 with Windows XP SP3 and one with Vista. Two of the three print just fine but the Toshiba Laptop (Satellite P205 w/XP Pro) takes about 3 minutes before it starts printing. This happens even if the printer is connected directly (via USB) to the computer. I have completely uninstalled all HP products on the Toshiba and reinstalled the printer from the original CD and from the update on HP's web site. If I just tell it to print a test page the print Que icon on my task bar opens immediately. If I open all printers it shows the print job as printing but nothing is happening. If I wait long enough it will eventually print and seems to print normally. I have tried deleting everything in the sys32/spooler/printers folder with no help. The print spooler is set to print as soon as the first page is loaded. Short of reloading windows I have done everything I can think of. Anyone have some ideas? 1 person needs an answerI do too
