Print Processor Not found - Win7 Shared Printer
I am stuck on this for a few days now. Old ENV: Win7(x64) connected to shared printer on Vista(x32). Great. No problems. Recently replaced the vista machine w/ new Win7x64 and shared the same printer(now with x64 drivers) great. Printer works fine. Issue: the already existing win7 machine can no longer connect/install the same printer it was connected to. I keep getting the error: Windows cannot connect to the printer. The print processor does not exist. Help! the print processor being used on the shared printer machine is hpfpp02t.I have tried to change to winprint but it made no difference. I have cleaned up unused print processors on the machine I am trying to install the printer. I have removed and reinstalled the printer on the machine that is sharing it. I ran a MS printer diagnostic tool that resets spoolsv.exe back to default - but they tool did not find any issues on either machine. I have tried adding the printer via Add Printer and from explorer \\computer\printer..... Any advise / suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, SJ

I uninstalled Print services from Add/Remove I deleted all keys under local/current that had any relation to any installed printers, on any system, drivers, connections..... I deleted the contents under spool\printers, spool\prtprocs, spool\drivers, spool\SERVERS rebooted. Re installed the print services under add/remove. tried to install the remote shared printer. It recognized it had to install a driver. - (64x driver is only one installed on shared machine - both computers are x64) It did - then crashed with the same error 0x000006be

Hi, Have you tried another user account to see if you can install the driver? Also, I suggest you check the event viewer to see if there are any error information about this failure. If not, you could use process monitor to monitor the driver installation process, which should give you some information about this error: Troubleshooting with Process Monitor http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2007/06/01/troubleshooting-with-process-monitor.aspx Meanwhile, you could refer to the following thread: Can't add printer.
