Print Fails via Apple Airport /Extreme router on Win 7 64bit
I have done the following steps: 1. Updated drivers for HP Deskjet 6500 2. Setup router using Apple Airport Utility. 3. Verified Internet access --- This very message is using it. 4. Print fails on all attempts and all setups tried so far One of the setups attempted was to use the solution offerred on THIS site previously as follows: quote Tuesday, October 27, 2009 4:18 AM Arthur Xie MSFT Moderator First, please download the latest driver from the following website. HP Customer Care > HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One Printer > Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit) Important Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. Most printer driver installation program can help us to install a network printer. During the installation, it may prompt that if you would like to install a local printer or a network shard printer. Then select the correct option. Enter the IP address of the printer and finish the installation. If the driver installation program does not help in this, follow the steps below to add a shard printer. 1. Click Start, click Control Panel and double click Devices and Printers. 2. Click Add a Printer. 3. Select "Add a local printer". 4. Select "Create a new port". Choose "Local Port" as the type of the port. 5. In the box "Enter a port name", type the address as the following format. \\[IP address of the printer] Then click Next. 6. Follow the instruction to finish the installation. During installing, choose the correct driver in the driver list. unquote One of the chief difficulties I have with above offered solution is that I cannot find the IP address of the printer. I tried the IP address of the Airport Extreme router, the subnet mask, the IPv4 IP address, the network name. None resolved the print issue. Can someone advise how I might discover or verify the printer IP address? Or advise a solution?

From HP's web site re:the OfficeJet 6500 All-in-one wireless printer/scanner: To print the network configuration page from the device control panel Press the Setup button, select Network Setup, select Print Network Configuration Page, and then press OK. I had to set up a similar HP device for my father a while back. It was a bit of a pain and took two or three tries before the PC would recognize it via the wireless router (in his case a Belkin device). I'm sure you already know this, but you can set up the network on the device via three different methods: using a USB cable and the disk that came with the device; using the device's control panel; using the device's web interface.
