Preparing to configure Windows
Could you upload your CBS logs (the folder C:\windows\logs\cbs), and the setupapi logs (In C:\windows\inf, the files setupapi.dev.log and setupapi.app.log) to skydrive or something of the like and post the link? This will help identify
the issue.

I hope that you can assist me. I have read all the articles regarding Update for Windows 7, KB2264107, and using restore disks and the "Fix IT" application from Microsoft and I can tell you, nothing has worked for me.
I have upgraded from Vista Professional x86 to Windows 7 Ultimate x86, I do not have Update for Windows 7, KB2264107 installed in my Lenovo T61 laptop and I have applied all the Fix It applications from Microsoft but to no avail.
I am also no in a position to use the system restore or restore disks as restore disks have not yet been created for this upgrade and I have rolled back (System Restore) as many times as I feel comfortable to do.
Is there anyone at Microsoft that is able to sort this problem out for me as everytime I shutdown or startup, I receive the message "Preparing to configure windows......" and it takes up to 10 minutes to complete.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi,
Since the computer is upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, I suggest performing upgrade process again via Windows 7 upgrade disk. After upgrading, please update all possible
devices' driver from manufacture's site.
