Port 6051 & Windows 7 Pro
Hello.
I opened port 6051 (created new rule in windows firewall) on my machine running Windows 7 Pro. However, whenever I try to telnet to it from another PC I get no connectivity. I need this opened for the deployment of AVG in my domain.
Note: Machines are on the same subnet. So far it worked on an apple running windows 7 Ultimate.
Any ideas on this issue

Windows 7 firewall is two ways firewall make sure it open in both outgoing and incomming.

It doesn't hurt to monitor outgoing traffic, but its value is greatly
exaggerated. Outward protection is basically an illusion. Once one of
the nasties gets into your computer, it can essentially do whatever it
wants, including circumventing the firewall. So the extra protection
provided by a firewall that monitors outbound traffic is more apparent
than real.
