Poor call quality with lync client and lync phone

Hi,

Any idea to trace call quality issue with lync 2010? Some times some calls to PSTN call or external call can't hear the voice normally but it is happen randomly.

They using AudioCode M1k for the audio gateway.

Network Switch and AudioCode SBA , Workstation client GPO was did the QOS already.

This site is using SBA for the PSTN incoming and outgoing call.

Peer to peer call is normal.

Thanks.

Do you have the monitoring role installed? If so then you can check the log for the call that had the issue. The call log will show the two call legs that Lync has access to - Client <-> SBA and then SBA <-> Gateway.

Review the network stats and ensure there's no jitter/packet loss, or anything else that is obvious. I usually also check the other stats (echo in, client CPU performance, etc.) to make sure the client device/computer is working as expected (eg when a coder is compiling while on a call their computer slows down which affects their call quality).

If all these return normal then you need to reach out to whoever manages the gateway and see if they can pull some sort of quality stats for the affected calls.
