We have Windows server 2003 running domain controller, clients usually had windows xp's. Now that most changed their OS's to Windows 7, they can't seem to change their domain passwords from their Windows 7's boxes. In XP they used to change their domain passwords through Control Panel /manage my network password/, now in Windows 7 I can't find the equivalent way. PS They only use the domain controller account to access a specific directory on the network, and not for Windows logon EDIT: There is an option in Windows 7 supposedly the same as the one in XP called Manage my credentials. I have tried to use the option to change the domain password for a client, but it doesn't work, the password does not get changed. and this is where i'm stuck

To change a domain user's password in Windows 7: While logged in as the user press Ctrl+Alt+Del and select Change a password... Enter the old password, then enter the new password (twice), Press the (->) button and confirm. Done. To change a domain user's password while they're not logged in you'll have to go to Active Directory Users and Computers on one of your DCs (or install the Windows 7 RSAT package on the Windows 7 machine.)

"Windows 7 includes a feature called 'credential manager.' This is similar to technology in past versions of Windows in that it stores your frequently used passwords so you can easily access and manage" The credential manager is accessed from the Control Panel: Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> Credential Manager.http://blog.simaju.fr - Partage de connaissances et retour d'expriences.
