Persistent Network Drive Mapping Wanted, Windows 7 Enterprise, 64 bit
Hi All, What is the proper way to force a network drive mapping even thought there is no network connection present? I WANT the red "X" to appear when there is no connection AND the mapped drive to appear UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCE. "/persistent" is not working in this case The reason for this is that we are testing out Direct Access, and the only way I can get the drive mapping to appear is to log on, provide the OTP for DA, establish the tunnel, and then log off the laptop and log back on. That is not acceptable for an end user! C'mon Microsoft, there has to be solution for this! This is basic stuff! When the computer is booted up in it's dock, it works fine, never a problem I understand that you can't run a login script with DA, so I want these mapped drive to be truly persistent. I want the user to boot up the laptop off the network, login, establish a wireless connection, enter in thier OTP for DA, open Windows Explorer and see the mapped drive with the red X, click on that drive, and go. Thanks!! Thanks!

Hi, How did you map your drive, via GPP or other ways? In order to understand your issue better, please help us capture some related screenshots for analyzing. How to capture a screenshot ========================= 1) Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2) Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3) In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4) The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot". 5) Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click “Desktop” on the left pane and then click "Save". 6) Then Upload to SkyDrive.
