Permissions
I am using Win 7 Pro at home and it is a bit over my head. We have a home network of 7 computers, all with some version of Windows 7 (not all are Professional). We have used Win 7 Pro on 2 computers within our network for about 5 months with no issues. When I began to use Outlook 2010 on my laptop we started having issues with file permissions. It didn't happen on mine, but did on every other computer. All other computers lost administrator rights to almost everything. In the beginning, we thought it was a hacking issue and have wiped drives and reinstalled to the point of destroying some of our hard drives, yet the problem remains. This has been going on for two months now and we are pulling our hair out trying to figure out what is happening. My investigation has led me to believe that it has something to do with SQL 2008 R2 and/or the Shadow Copy process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will be happy to provide more info if necessary.Donna Wise

Hi Donna, I would like to verify where the permission issue happens, on the local system or on file sharing. Did you receive any error message? What software are installed on the computer? If you suspect the issue is related to SQL 2008 R2 or the shadow copy process, you can uninstall them temporarily. If the issue persists without them, I suggest disabling security software or firewall to check the result. Also, you can update network card driver, test issue in clean boot.
