Permission to share over local network
I've tried Microsoft Answers, and been referred to the Forums, so I hope I can make myself clear to such an audience. I'm trying to give permission to a group or users on another computer in my network at home (or even a particular programme on it). It has Windows XP, and I want them (or it) to be able to write to a folder in Windows 7 Home Premium. I have network discovery, file and printer sharing, Public folders and password protected sharing turned on. Under the folder Properties Sharing tab I've clicked Advanced Sharing and then Permissions. Under the Share Permissions tab I then clicked Add. In the Select Users or Groups dialogue box, From this location shows only the home computer with Windows 7. I can see in Network that the other is connected, and its Windows XP is working, but it doesn't show when I click on Locations... If I try Advanced and Find Now, one of the choices I'm offered is NETWORK. I seem to remember at some stage finding another route to the same destination, and with the same result. Is this the most accurately I can specify the other computer and its users?

I thought I had. Can you refer me to somewhere I can better educate myself on the subject?
