Permission Denied Moving Start Menu Folders
In an effort to clean-up the mess of folders that get created when installing programs, I attempted to consolidate a few folders on the Start > Programs menu. I tried dragging one folder into another (like I used to do in XP) and I got a warning stating that I don't have permissions to do that even though I'm logged in as an administrator. I tried moving the folders directly within Windows Explorer by browsing to this folder: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu ... but no luck; I still get a permission denied error. So what is the magic secret to simply allow me to organize the start menu? Note that the program shortcuts and folders that I'm attempting to move are for all users, not just my user account.

Thank you for the reply. What's weird is that when I logged-in as the admin (UAC), I couldn't move files no matter what... I kept getting permission warnings. However, when I logged-in as a standard user, then moved the files (which prompted the UAC login), then I could move the files. Go figure.

I did everything you suggested, Jaytf, and I still can't manage my start menu. Any further suggestions? Or am I doing something wrong?
