Permanently use domain log in and profile while no longer on domain
That is a good point which I have considered. Thanks. It would be more for a transition. We were hoping to use the profile copying utility that worked so well in XP. But, they have disabled it it in Windows 7. To make it work, there is actually a hack of sorts.

We are migrating 150 users off of a shared domain and onto a separate network. They will not be joining another domain. Instead of creating new local profiles, I am wondering if there is a registry modification that will permanently let the users log in to their domain profile. A registry change that will permanently cache their current username and password.

My thoughts would be this is a security concern since if they use their cache username\password forever they would never change their password again. This would create a hackers dream... I would rethink the plan.
