Permanently display application icon that appear in the hidden/grouped taskbar view
Hi, Does anyone know how to automatically change the default taskbar behaviour for applications like communicator 2007 R2 so that the icon is permanently displayed on the taskbar and not shown in the grouped/hidden taskbar view? The default view in Windows 7 is that the communicator R2 icon is displayed in the hidden/grouped taskbar I know it can be changed manually, but have found no information on how to do this either during installation or via registry/group policy Thanks in advance regards MortenMHL

Hi, The configuration is saved in the following Registry branch: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify You may configure the Notification Area icons in one sample system, then export the above branch in that system and import the *.reg file to other systems. Hi, Thanks for your reply. I find the registry settings but doing what you suggest does not change the appearence of the Commminicator 2007 R2 icon. It is still displayed as hidden/grouped Regards MortenMHL

Hi, It is the exact Registry branch that controls the Notification Area behavior. It seems that the importing Registry branch method is not applied in this area. I am afraid that there are no other methods. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
