Pending Reboot not clearing
When I start, I get an alert that resarting my computer is necessary before updating can continue (several months now). Trying to load Nero, I get alert that there is a panding reboot that needs to happen before it can load. Did not get this when I recently loaded Norton. Windows Update on AUTO, and manually running it indicates I am current. So, somewhere it seems there is a reboot order not getting cleared when I restart or even shutdown totally.

Hi, Method 1.I would first recommend you to reset the Windows Update components and check refer to the article below and check. How do I reset Windows Update components?http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058Method 2.If the issue still exists then you can perform the system restore to an earlier time and then install the updates one by one and check which update is causing the conflict. For additional information on system restore in safe mode refer to the articles below. How to start the System Restore tool by using the safe mode option with the Command prompt in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/304449Troubleshooting steps for issues when you try to use the System Restore tool in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/302796 Hope this helps. Thanks and Regards:Shekhar S - Microsoft Support.
