Passwords not being saved even when offered in Windows 7
RC and production Enterprise were working fine. In the last week or so, the facility has been lost - HP dc5850 SFF. Noted also, not necessarily related, that Symantec Endpoint Protection lost its most recent definitions, went to ones 2 months old, and refused to update, even though the updates appeared to be downloaded. Had to grab the current executable from the Symantec website to get things back to correct; and updating works properly again.Outlook crashed at about the same time, and I had to re-install (2007)- locally cached from a massive sized Exchange web farm(Apparently, I did the wrong thing posting this in the social forums sectin - sorry; but I thought that was an appropriate location because I am the only user of Windows 7 at this time. Oh well, smacky smaky, I'll learn, very slowly unfortuantely at 58)Big George

Hi gd_160 I didn't get your means of "passwords not being saved"... Did you can't save your password on IE or somewhere? BTW, according to your post in 22 Nov, "Loss of profile - I have two installations of 7. One is on a PC, and the other on a notebook." your mentioned that your profile's start menu and other data seems to be loss, and you said your Anti-Virus software refuse to update in this post. I think that your Windows 7 profile maybe corrupted or your PC being infested by Virus. You can perform the following: A) Reinstall your Symantec Endpoint Protection Software (if need,Contact Symantec for support if any errors.) B) Try to install other Anti-malware software to check your PC and also perform Online Virus Scan if possible. C) Only if the above options don't work; Create another Profile and perform A and B MCITP - Enterprise Support Technican MCITP - Enterprise Administrator MCITP - Enterprise Messaging Administrator

I have not disabled the pop-up optionthat offers to save passwords WHEREVER they are used. IE8 yes,a sharepoint portal attached to our single login which is the biggest PITA as IE has a group policy enforced home page (which I implemented), and a number of other places; but there is no problem with accessing devices managed under this domain single login - mail, server/shares, RDC (to servers which is a case that saves the data in its own files and is never a problem). The problem has only occured in the past two weeks, and was fine from W7 Enterprise RTM until then, with Symantec previously being fine as well. I used AVG-Free with RC releases. Big GeorgeI ran a System Restore FROM YESTERDAY'S Previous Version which fixed this problem. FUNNY; but the problem predates the most recent WIndows Updates that were installed less than 24 hours ago. Weird, that
