Password Reset?
1.Be very careful before doing so. Check your computer against viruses and malware. Check the open ports and communication . Use Autoruns and Process Explorer from Sysinternals to pinpoint any suspicious process. Arrange clean boot before doing any changes.
Save you data.
2. Use Ctrl+Alt+Del instead and change the password after you have done all tests in step 1.

Are you part of a company network? They might have changed there password policy, meaning you have to change your password.
If it's your home computer i would run a virus scan and then change it using ctrl+alt+del and do it that way.
