Partitions in Window XP
When my computer started to go slow I had a computer man reinstall Windows XP, I have no clue how to do it, as I’m a novice with computers. The man added two partitions (D & E) on my computer as he said it would come in handy for keeping a copy of Windows in one of them. Now that my C drive is nearly full I would like to delete one of my partitions (E). My question is, if I delete the (E) partition will the size of that partition automatically be added to my C drive? I would really appreciate any help I can get.1 person needs an answerI do too

No. It will become unallocated (and hence not useable). But you can use third party partition mamager software (e.g. partition magic, many others) to expand the C partition to include the unallocated space. But why not use the E partition to store your personal files and backups (e.g of your favorites, email, etc.)? That way, should you ever have to reinstall XP, you will not need to worry about losing your personal data. You can move the My documents folder to it by using the method described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310147<vindi62> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...When my computer started to go slow I had a computer man reinstall Windows XP, I have no clue how to do it, as I'm a novice with computers. Thank you for the quick reply. I will try your suggestion as soon as I get the nerve up. I'm always scared to try new things. I'm still scared to try and reinstall Windows XP even though I have a photo copy of every stage of doing it. When the computer man did it the last time he went into the bio stuff which I have no idea about. Anyway once again, thank you, Michael Hastie
