Partition hard drive not visible?
Hey guysI made a 20Gb partition on my hard drive to install the Windows 7 beta on along side Vista. Everything has been successfully installed and I can boot up either OS with no problems. When I boot up Vista I can see the hard drive partition that contains Windows 7. However when I boot up Windows 7 I can't see any other hard drive partitions other than the one that Windows 7 is on and I can't see my original Vista partition.Any ideas?

To see the partition you will need to assign it a drive letter, without the drive letter the drive becomes invisible. It is exactly the same with digital card readers, the card reader drive is no longer visible until the card is actually inserted into the reader.John Barnett - Windows XP Associate Expert; Windows Desktop Experience. - Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org

I did that and assigned my main drive in windows 7 but now when I try to boot XP it just sits there at a black screen and doesnt seem to load windows at all.

Hi evebody,I had the same problem : a three partition disk with one for XP, one for Datas and the last one for W7.After installing W7, only W7 and data partitions where visible.Giving a partition letter to the XP partition following the given way repared everything : now, from W7 I can see my three partitions, from XP the same (and it boots correctly on both XP and W7).
