Packet loss with Belkin G wireless router
Hey im having a problem with my Belkin G wireless router. I sometimes need to plug it in to allow someone with a laptop to connect to the internet, but as soon as i do i become unable to find servers in online games. When checking my connection on speedtest.net i came across Pingtest.net, i tried it out and found that i had an 88% packet loss. I have attemped to configure for DMZ with no effect... what can i do? The 'packet loss' is probably artificial due to the router's firewall. To check, go to http://192.168.2.1/ and click on 'Firewall' on the left side, and disable. Now test again, you should be get 0% loss. It worked for me. You may want to enable it after checking. I don't know that it actually reduces performance, it just makes it hard to perform that test. ...I think.
