Hey guys,I am trying to solve this problem for 2 days now, reading through this forum and 1000 of google entries, NOTHING helped and I am not a PC-beginner.I installed Win 7 yesterday on the 4-year old pc at my girlfriends. Everything worked fine except sound which didn't work out of the box but I got a driver. The next problem is the PPPoE connection, which drops randomly aprox. every 10 minutes or so. There is no router between the pc and the isp, an rj-45 cable goes directly to the pc from a switch I believe. We got a user and password to connect and that's how I set up the connection which worked fine, or so I thought. I disabled IPv4 and 6 for the network card, didnt't help at all. I also installed the newset Realtek drivers, no success. Even the raspppoe.sys method didn't work and cause an error.First I thought maybe it's an software problem, many ppl reported Bonjour to causing trouble, but after a clean install everything was still.. not working. What is really weird is the fact, that I got asked by the connection manager, if it should automatically disconnect the connection, I answered of course no, but it's still dropping and driving me nuts.Any ideas? Hello customer, I suspect the issue might be related to the incompatibility of your Network Adaptors driver. First you might go to Device Manager, right click your Network Adaptors device in the list and select Update Driver Software; then click Search automatically for updated driver software or directly download the latest driver from Microsoft Update Catalog. If it does not work on your issue, I'd suggest you installing the Vista driver in Compatibility mode. Remove and rescan that hardware device in Device Manager, right-click on the driver executable/installer file -> Properties and select the Compatibility tab; click the checkbox before Run this program in Compatibility mode for option and select Windows Vista in the list-down box; then try installing the device driver via Run as administrator. In addition, you can use the Windows XP driver for testing. If reinstalling the driver do not help, you might try running Windows 7 built-in Networking Troubleshooting utility to test whether there exist some known network issues. Sorry, i have the same problem and is equal to the problem of hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925681 . The solution is to develop another fix for modem.sys as it was done with Usbser.sys.The connection does not stopif it is not used with high bandwith usage. It only stops and doesnt disconnect when it is used with hugh bandwith usage (like a download). I had similar problem with usb and it was corrected with this hotfix.Can someone forward this to the appropriate developer team to fix?ThanksPeter
